What User doesn't like about Taj Mahal:
We tried this when it first was rebranded/bought and were disappointed with the food but we decided to give it another try- oh dear! I had the chicken dupiaza and my wife had the chicken tikka masala, both were extremely salty and the dupiaza was...flavourless. I’ve heard they have different chefs on certain days but I won’t risk it again as it’s not cheap in comparison to Indian takeaways in other local villages. View all feedback. Very busy in the heart of the old city Good atmosphere, service a little slow, but friendly, food tasty and varied, but meat oriented. for mains and wine. Would go again though View all feedback.

I had a good meal here. good proportions of size and favorable.
Wow, the food counter was impressively large. The service was okay, but the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes for the price were incredible.
Very nice Indian food. well boiled and pleasant, we always get a lot of vegetables in the vege biryani, and recommend jalfazri.
Great selection of delicious dressed, friendly, friendly staff. beautiful atmosphere, highly recommended.
Excellent meal, delicious food freshly cooked. Highly recommended. Takeaway also available.

read moreTaj Mahal, formerly Saffron, has embraced a fresh identity under new ownership, offering a mixed dining experience. While some patrons praise the friendly atmosphere and warm welcome, others express concerns about inconsistent food quality, particularly with saltiness and blandness. The restaurant features a bring-your-own-drinks policy, making it an affordable dining option. Highlights include a revamped menu potentially influenced by a seasoned chef from a reputable establishment. Though service can be slow at times, many diners appreciate the delicious takeaways and generous portion sizes. Overall, Taj Mahal remains a promising addition to the local culinary scene, inviting repeat visits.
