We have visited Gather many times as we live locally. It always has a great atmosphere and is busy with customers. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is always superb with lovely ingredients. Large portions on offer. We went for the brunch and had the Eggs Benedict and Croque Monsieur with ham. Our meals were perfectly cooked and looked amazing on the plate. Well worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Departure612170 doesn't like about Gather Cafe:
So disappointed after reading the great reviews. Unfortunately, lunch menu very limited, not generous portions, the small bowl of soup was served with thin burnt sourdough bread slices, quite pricey, it felt cold inside the restaurant on a very chilly winter day. View all feedback.
This café is a hidden gem. The ambiance is fantastic, relaxing with unique decorations. The food is exceptional, expertly prepared, fresh ingredients, and a wonderful selection. We have visited multiple times and have always loved the food. This is not your average café, the quality is top-notch.
When my meal finally arrived, I was impressed. It came with a generous amount of fresh salad on a warm flatbread, topped with a single large kebab. The salad, especially the creamy feta cheese, was tasty and had a great texture. The kebab was tender, not greasy, and well-seasoned, and I appreciated that it was warm rather than hot, which paired nicely with the salad. The flavors and textures of the meal were exceptional, and I found myself wanting more, even though the portion was sufficient for a snack. I mentioned to the staff that the menu board advertised kebabs, plural, but I was served a single kebab. It turns out that the chef decides whether to serve 2 half-sized kebabs or 1 full-sized kebab, as they are made fresh on-site. Despite this small discrepancy, I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant and plan to return in the future.
I often went through Gather and thought of appearing, but I got a little discouraged, assuming I was small and possibly full of people. I was wrong. The coffee shop is not huge, but has a spacious atmosphere with good size tables for couples, groups or families. The decoration is very elegant and a bit peculiar also, with a kind of garden. The cafe offers breakfasts and lunches with high quality tasty ingredients and options available for vegetarians, vegans and those who require gluten free. The food had a good value for money (especially considering quality) and very fresh. It also offers a good selection of teas, coffees and juices and natural smoothies. The owners and the rest of the cafeteria staff are very friendly and helpful. All I'm sorry is I didn't try one of your delicious cakes.
As a local relative, I can say I've been to this coffee several times. Although the food, and especially the drinks, are often quite good and of good quality, prices seem to me quite exorbitant. In addition to this, the attitude of the staff was not entirely welcoming to me and my colleagues. I also see a problem with the fact that, being located near a busy primary school, coffee seems to work completely during the school day and rarely on weekends, which is certainly a missed opportunity, as many families would like to meet and have a coffee there after school. So, in general, I would say it is promising as a successful coffee, although it is still far from achieving it. In addition, in a note on the margin, when I was there, absolutely no precaution was taken by COVID 19 the tables were tight, there were no masks or social distance, during the short time I was there, there was no cleaning of tables.
The food, decor, and staff are all excellent at this restaurant! It caters well to vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters alike. It's my top choice for dining in Bath and the surrounding area. I can't speak highly enough of this lovely cafe.
