While the atmosphere is inviting and the service friendly, experiences can vary greatly. Some guests relish the fresh, well-prepared dishes like roasted tomato soup and salads, while others find the food, such as quiche and carrot cake, lacking in flavor and presentation. Slow service has been a recurring concern, especially during busy times. Despite these inconsistencies, the café remains a potential stop for a light lunch or coffee after exploring the museum, albeit with varying recommendations based on individual experiences.
On arrival to sit outside the table required cleaning. We asked the waiter if he could possibly clean the table (politely). He replied he was too busy. No other communication and never returned. We asked another waiter to wipe the table which he did but with one wipe. I live in Bath and proud of the city attractions. I was accompanied with friends from another part of the country. Not a great impression. Staff need to be trained not only in how to clean tables but how they interact with customers. Regrettably on this occasion it was poor!
The setting is lovely. Staff polite but service very poor and dirty tables the table we sat at never got wiped cleaned. We got brought drinks to us twice that were not ours this we did find rather amusing as we hadn’t even got round to ordering yet. Lovely ambience but the management seriously need to train the staff with some basic serving practices it wouldn’t take much to wipe the table when drinks/food is brought to the table. Such a shame as this could be an amazing place to dine due to the setting. Also the toilets need to be cleaned more regularly.
I was so excited to return to theHolburne Museum cafe, it used to be so wonderful. Sadly, no more. A poor selection of jacket potatoes and pre wrapped sandwiches and cakes generic and soulless.
It’s a shame service is so poor (stood waiting whilst cashier finished chatting) and food selection so limited because it’s setting and location is very good. Used to be quite a bit better, but now really does need to try harder
Nice for a coffee but snacks are expensive. Enjoyed excellent strong coffee at a fair price but had intended to have a snack, the prices, £7.95 for a cheese roll sent us elsewhere.
