Description

Housed in a distinctive white‑house corner building, this bustling tavern delivers scratch-made comfort food from a vast menu—burnt ends, pulled pork, wings, Cajun penne and standout desserts—served in a lively, old‑tavern atmosphere. Attentive bar service, generous portions and mostly reasonable prices keep regulars coming (reservations recommended). One guest raised concerns about a pooled-tipping policy and an unexpectedly high bill, but overall diners praise the consistent quality and friendly service.

Definitely 5 star rating. Monica, our server, was courteous and attentive. The atmosphere was loud with multiple conversations at the many tables available. The menu is huge and so many tasty choices. I knew I wanted to save room for the flourless chocolate truffle cake so I had to choose wisely. The Dutch Cornbread with jalapeño butter and rosemary salt caught my eye under small bites. I had narrowed down my selection when the Guinness French Onion Soup caught my eye and I knew my choice was made. Completely satisfied I had to get desert to go.

If you didn't know what this place was, you'd miss it. I was recommended to this restaurant by a vendor. Went in with a buddy and ordered the smothered tots, which were a great app to share between the two of us. Very heavy on toppings, cooked perfect. He ordered the wings and said they were nice and fresh. He worked in a chicken shop for a few years and is a huge critic of his chicken, so to impress him was surprising. I had the cajun penne alfredo pasta, and it was top notch. We sat at the bar and were heavily taken care of without a hitch. The drinks were great, and it was a nice place to eat and drink after a day of work. So, long story short if you see this review, try this place out, it looks like a large white house on the corner, but once you get inside, you'll be very happy you stopped.

We haven't been here in years, yet it was as good as I remembered. We started with wings, old bay style with Cajun ranch and Parmesan peppercorn dipping sauces...DELISH! We then split the pickle brined chicken sandwich which was fantastic, tender and tasty and the prime rib sandwich which was also flavorful. The sides were great too...Mac-n-cheese and coleslaw. Definitely a great spot. Reservations are highly recommended.

This is my favorite restaurant. They always exceed my expectations. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is truly exceptional. Everything is made from scratch. I brought a friend with me, and he was incredibly impressed with the pulled pork sandwich. It's definitely worth the 40-minute drive each way!
