This place open in 1991 has the best tasting catfish the fried catfish is real good I had Cajun grilled very tasty and very good flavor hush puppies is outstanding the beans very tasty , if in area definitely worth going to View all feedback.

I hate to leave this review but we went for my birthday dinner and I had been thinking about the fish all day just to be very very disappointed!! It was undercooked, gooey and had that nasty mud taste. So disappointed! I do have to say it was my first time to have this issue. View all feedback.
Best of the Best! Fred's is one of Batesville's best and I think the oldest restaurant, my knowledge, is still exactly the way it was. Probably the best fried catfish in the state and possibly in the south. The Hushpuppies, Slav, pickled green tomatoes and pint beans are also remarkable. Fred's is the perfect place for a delicious South Family Dinner, east of Batesville past Walmart it is worth the trip to the city!
Great cats. Test the mixed vegetables today. Much better than I expected. Something you expect served in a chic restaurant with a high-end menu.

The best fish and chips I've ever had. My fam loves this place so much that we go on an hour long ride just for lunch. The grilled fish is great too!!!
