The service between the entrance and the flat were “too” close, damage. However, the dishes were very good although very copied. The staff was nevertheless adorable View all feedback.
What teddy barnes doesn't like about Cafe Wha:
Following a visit for a meal, the place is pleasantly located on the old port. There are a lot of choices, maybe even too many. I had burritos and a hamburger. Tastes are different for each person, but nothing was exceptional for the asking price. There was a lack of flavor. View all feedback.
At a glance, this restaurant might seem to be a fast food joint. Although located in the Vieux Port, in line with the city's posh restaurants, the tacos and burritos popping out from their glossy menu board posted at the entrance could give anyone the feeling of a Tex Mex cafe. The restaurant offer indeed Mexican snacks between lunch at dinner, but for the clients who want to dine here, there's a different menu list available and a generous wine list. And a totally different aproach. The tables assigned to those who want to have diner here offer lovely views over the Historic Port buildings. We have ordered gambas a la plancha, pulpo a la gallega, calamares a la plancha and the fish of the day dish (catch of the day) No one of these dishes is, however, specific to Mexican cuisine. They are all actually traditional Spanish dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious, juicy and flavorish. Food with attitude. The wine was a Corsican Rose which matched nicely the sea food. And the desserts were French. The only Mexican stuffs we tasted here were the Margueritas and the Tequila Puff, ordered as appetizers. The outdoor seating offer gorgeous views over the Vieux Port at sunset and the staff was very kind, helpful and pro-active. All in all, a memorable evening with Spanish food, French desserts and Corsican wine served in a Mexican restaurant. And, last but not least, a good value for money, comparing to the other restaurants in the area.
