I had heard good reports and was so pleased we visited. Spotlessly clean, excellent choice of well kept ales, really friendly and welcoming with a varied menu choice too. We will be back! We loved our Polish Goulash View all feedback.
What cookie1967 doesn't like about The Kings Arms:
I can remember visiting this pub quite sometime ago but I am guessing it has since changed ownership. Upon arriving the pub was warm and welcoming. It did not seem busy with people eating but me and my friend was soon shown the menu. The... View all feedback.

A very tasty traditional Sunday Roast, with all the trimmings, for a good price. The Kings Arms does itself proud with its well presented roast dinner; Beef, Lamb Gammon and Pork on offer also a combination was mentioned at the bar when ordering, so you can mix and match! Additionally a fish option (Salmon was on the board and a risotto dish, which I think may be the vegetarian option. As usual, I stuck to the beef. This came with a generous serving of succulent, tender beef it was well done and no option was given for rare I presume this had been slow cooked, as it was 'melt in the mouth ', so no negatives. Alongside came a large stuffing ball, roast potatoes that had a nice crispness, mash, roast parsnip and Yorkshire Pudding. The veg was well cooked (just right not too much! and generous, consisting of cauliflower cheese, cabbage, carrots and broccoli. Horseradish sauce was offered, which came in a separate serving dish. Nice. A special mention goes out to the gravy, which was 'proper ' rustic and not the thin watery 'juice ' so often seen. This had flavour and body. Brilliant. There was also plenty of it! A friend had Lamb, and also said it was lovely but she couldn 't finish as the portion size beat her: I did threaten her with a child 's portion initially, which are available. Never got around to any 'afters ' but did have a nice glass of Shiraz with the meal; nothing special here, but pleasant and sold by the glass. The beer was pretty good, although I never finish a full pint if having a roast so hence the switch to wine. The Pub is a proper local, and as such has great, pleasant staff who really care about your visit they obviously care about repeat custom, which is how it should be. As a very busy local, there are the usual signs of wear and tear don 't let this worry you it is just a sign of a very old pub doing a roaring trade day in, day out. It has character. I reckon if you 're in the mood for a proper good roast you will be pleased to make a visit. You need to book! I 'll be back, as Arnie said.
My friend and I met up here just before they were due to stop serving. They were more than happy for us to eat and nothing was too much trouble. The food was well cooked and very tasty we will definitely be going back again
We booked a table of 6 for a Sunday lunch as we hadn't been here but always travelled past. The price for an adult roast was only £7.99 and you could choose which meat you had and it came with a large selection of vegetables...
This is my new venue of choice for Sunday lunch. It's the fourth time I've been and I've yet to finish my dinner, so the meals are a decent size. Good value and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and there is Sky Sports...
