New Year’s Eve. I chose it because I like quiet dining and this place is still old school in that regard. Beautiful ambiance, very low noise, comfortable seating, not too cold or too hot. Service was excellent. The only problem was that the food was just average. Not very inspired. We don’t like lamb so we ordered off the menu and not the NYE special, but still….I had a $47 filet mignon which was dry and tough, not well cooked at all. The potato gratin tasted good but seemed to be maybe a day old and very visually unappealing and a little dry. The salad was excellent. Drinks were good. The staff were very friendly. If they could get the cooking up to the standards of the rest of the experience this place would be awesome. I will come back because I think the food issues were probably because it was NYE and maybe they got stuck not being able to get good provisions that week and were running out maybe.

Overall a great dining experience. Very good food, great atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

I was there with 8 guests for my birthday. The building is historic and has a lot of character which is one of the main reasons I had my family make reservations here. The food was good not great, but hit the spot). Cost was fairly high for the type of food ordered. The main draw back was that our waiter lacked attention and did not make us feel welcome. Seemed like he was pre occupied, did not smile and had a short dismissive tone. A welcoming smile and positive attitude would have made this a much better experience for me and my group.
