beautiful location, very welcoming and spotless clean. the food was so good, bark perfectly cooked, with crispy bratkartoffels, large amount mixed veg, house made yorkshire and extra gravy on the side. the desert was also delicious. service was excellent, very fast and efficient....Sloving place, highly recommended. good value for money. What russellrayners doesn't like about Carpenter's Arms:
The menu was unimpressive, featuring standard dishes that lacked quality. The fish had uncooked batter, and even a simple dish like ham, egg, and chips was ruined by inedible ham. We only ate because there were no other options due to COVID-19 restrictions, but we won't be returning. View all feedback.
My family group dined at this restaurant. The server seemed disinterested and eager to leave our table, not paying attention to our requests. She even mentioned her dislike for smoke, implying she should find a smoke-free job. The food was alright, with good starters and decent mains, but the burger buns were burnt and the chips seemed reheated from the day before. The dessert, a microwaved sticky toffee pudding, had a hard and overcooked base. It's a shame, as this used to be a favorite spot for our family, but we will not be returning due to the disappointing experience.
We stopped by this restaurant after touring the Bombay Sapphire Distillery and received a warm and friendly welcome. The food was hot, tasty, and served in good-sized portions. The pudding was excellent as well.

This is a great location with good views and the service was also good. But the food was like pub food from the 1980s, and arrived almost instantly on very hot plates so there was no pretence of being freshly cooked or locally produced. Very few other customers despite being a glorious sunny day and lots of outside seating.
Dropped in while on a walk in the hope of getting some food. Arrived just after 12 and ordered drinks and sunday lunch. Pub was quiet, staff were friendly, food arrived quickly and was very good. Mixture of veg; shredded beef was an interesting change.Food was hot and fresh. Sat in the recently opened extension which was very smart. Altogether very positive experience.
