Dragon Chef - Basildon
Dragon Chef
Description
Dragon Chef has garnered mixed reactions, leaving customers feeling either delighted or deeply dissatisfied. While many laud the restaurant for its flavorful dishes, generous portions, and prompt service—highlighting favorites like chow mein and tender beef—others report alarming quality issues, including fatty meats and bland flavors, leading to wasted meals. The discrepancies emphasize a lack of consistency that leaves diners divided, with some feeling long-awaited anticipation turn into disappointment. Ultimately, Dragon Chef shows potential but comes with a caveat; diners should tread carefully when placing their orders.

I was babysitting for friends in Rayleigh and decided to order Chinese food instead of my usual Indian takeout. Unfortunately, there weren't many options for Chinese delivery in the area, so I picked a restaurant based on availability rather than a recommendation. The Singapore fried rice and king prawn chow mein were okay, but nothing special. The crispy squid was overcooked and not very enjoyable. On the bright side, they gave us a complimentary bag of prawn crackers which was a nice touch. Overall, I would say the meal was average. I would suggest checking out reviews before ordering next time!
It has been 2 hours since I placed my order and I still have not received my food. I have been trying to call the restaurant for 45 minutes but the line is continuously busy. This experience has been terrible.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The food was amazing and the best Chinese food in Wickford. Everything was fresh, especially the chow mein, Singapore vermicelli, and dumplings. The service was excellent, and I am looking forward to ordering from here again.
I don’t usually write reviews but dragon chef deserves this I ordered a large takeaway for my sons birthday and the food really did impress me and my guests I think it’s the best takeaway in wickford by far
