Staff are rude, order was wrong, chips were small in portion size and not great at all. They are more interested in delivery drivers than customers in the shop (probably because of the higher prices they can charge via delivery apps) View all feedback.

I really like their fish and chips here. Delicious.
Due to just eat, Uber Eats etc...... Its making the service quite slow. Not the staffs fault. Apart from that. Always nice chips from there.
Ordered through just eat. Waited for a while, cod was cold. And the pictures were ment to be a LARGE chips. Phoned to discuss and was told that a large chips is what was sent without even seeing the pictures. Ruined our dinner as the were not enough chips to go round. Have used big q for years but after tonight our business will be going elsewhere. 2 star rating is only for the quality big q used to have otherwise after tonight it gets a 0.
Have recently been disappointed by the quality of the cod. It has recently been very thin.
Visited big Q yesterday for the first and last time, very poor service, staff behind counter had a Big problem getting a simple order correct, also very small portions.

This is the best fish and chip shop in the area. I have never had any complaints. The staff are funny, the portions are large, and the prices are very good value.
The food at this restaurant is average. The service could use some improvement. There was no greeting, no smiling, and minimal interaction from the staff. It's important to treat customers with respect in order to keep them coming back. I used to frequent this place years ago and the staff would always greet me warmly and ask what I would like. However, during my recent visit, I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff. I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant.
I have used this chippy years. Over the last few months the quality has Been declining Today the fish and chips I got were uneatable. I was offered free food on my next visit but I feel the staff must have known how dry and stale the fish was and therefore should not have served it, so I will not be going back again.
I had excellent fish and chips once again. This is the only place in Basildon that I will go to for this dish. I highly recommend it.
First visit as other chip shop has been demolished. Warm chips, fish pretty tasteless. Cash only , no fish ready so have to wait for the frozen fish to be taken out of the bag!! No wonder it’s empty, never again.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The chips were some of the freshest I've had in a long time. The attention to detail really stood out to me and I will definitely be making this my go-to local chippy.
