Restaurant Ueli-Stube - Basel

I came here for a Rosti accoridng to the reviews, but I did not like so much, was not the best I had and furthermore the place was not confortable there was a cook I think smoking at the netrance near the kitchen I did not have a good feeling

The restaurant have its own bier, Ueli. This is the bier of Basel carnival and the brewery stays below the restaurant. You also can by only the bier in big and nice bottles they have there.

I ordered the special of the day, Veal Schnitzel for 32CHF. It was very greasy and tough. I had just landed and expected the price to reflect the quality of the food. You will learn that this is not the case while in Basel! This was the type of dish i would expect from a 'Favorite Chicken' or a 'Morleys' back in the UK.Staff lovely and beers nice so I would always return for a drink but never to eat again.

Nice beer house in a nice location, food is quite good and beer even better. Friendly service. A bit noisy as time passes (beer is good!)

Excellent location great terrace and one of the best weissen biers (they do have others too) you will find anywhere. Review rating mainly an the beer quality and atmosphere rather than the food as the food is expensive (but where isn't in Basel) though we had meatloaf Frikadelle a couple of salads and fries which were all good and cheaper by far the mains. Worth a visit to keep a great micro brewery going.
