Delicious homemade pasta and nice cozy location friendly staff! highly recommended
Absolutely wonderful staff and excellent authentic food. We had the ravioli, flammkuchen, bolognese, nussli salat and pumpkin soup. A treasure in Basel
Insider tip in Basel. If you are looking for a cozy atmosphere with really good food, the hostaria is a must. There are three menus at lunch and a small menu in the evening. The restaurant is very small. That's why I would strongly recommend a reservation. The food is made with a lot of love and is therefore very tasty. The host Gianni is also very friendly and concerned about the well-being of the guests. Gianni, we'll be back

Food was amazing. I had the ravioli with wil boar in a mushroom sauce. They have a very nice selection of wines by the glass. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: CHF 80–90
Visiting HOSTARIA for the first time and definitely not the last time. Is a homely restaurant. It's impressive what the kitchen has to offer considering the tight space. The host team does a great job. (PS: very close to 5 stars) Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 70–80 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We enjoyed a simple lunch of risotto and pasta. The dishes were enjoyable. The service was excellent.
Amazing find. Authentic Italian food from a small menu right in the heart of Basel albeit slightly tucked away. Small place, big flavours. So good we went again the next day and fortunately we got in. The owner takes pride and will sit and talk to you making you feel more welcome.
We had the lemon/riccotta ravioli and the cordon bleu. Both were delicious. The owner, who is half Italian, takes great pride in his establishment as he should. He was very personable and friendly. Offered good wine advice as well. If we lived here we would come again.
We went here d/t TripAdvisor reviews. The food was fresh but the Cordon Blu was salty. We asked for tap water, given a sm pitcher and were charged CHF 5.00. When we questioned this, the owner gave a lame excuse. Ordered wine and was served a half pour at best. The owner was arrogant. Sorry, we can’t recommend this restaurant.
What a fantastic find my partner made! Exceptional service, beautiful food, gorgeous pre dinner cocktail, lovely place if ever visit Basel again we would 100% return. Friends had the Meat Flamuchucken I think it was called) loved this), partner had the Wild boar ravioli my favourite) and the Spaghetti bolognaise just delicious) It was expensive, but no more so than any other restaurant in Basel. We paid same for an Indian meal which was good but only half as nice. Switzerland clearly is much more expensive than UK. Definitely recommend visiting Hostaria.
