Seit 31 Jahren komme ich mal. Aussicht anns Barfi. Ein lecker Lachs und co. Und dann wieder zur Arbeit. Immer wieder spannent mit dem Service. Husch husch
Immer gerne wieder.
Schönes Lokal, old Style (Holz, kein Plastik), weisse Stofftischtücher und -servietten. Schöne Gläser. Netter, aufmerksamer und professioneller Service. Klimatisiert.

On a warm day in Basel, Stadthof Restaurant provided a pleasant shady retreat to sit down and watch the World go by, enjoy a nice cold beer with very good food. The waiter addressed us as soon as we showed interest in Stadthof, got us seated and presented menus in English. We were encouraged by our introduction to the restaurant. We ordered (by mistake) very large beers but had no trouble downing them during the meal as it was good beer and it went very well with the calamari and sausage and cheese salad. The serves were generous and the salads fresh and contained plenty of variety. The price of our meals were reasonable considering that Switzerland can be expensive.
It was wonderful in the 80es and still is. Cozy place, great variety of small sandwich breads with different delicious toppings to choose from, reasonable price. It is bar and restaurant. Like in the nordics there is also a section where you can sit and watch out to the street. My favorites are the fire bread (füürbrötli) thins with paprika or raw tartare meat or thins with onions on top but veggie and crevèttes fish options are available too.
Delicious, fresh and value for money. Service is also very friendly and seating outside comfortable. Aprox 4.50€ per piece is also very good for what you get. Worth going there for breakfast, but 2 are more then sufficient as they big brotli.
I visited this restaurant for a business dinner. I had high expectations but the food was average (more so for the high price . The service was a bit pushy and not totally friendly (not unfriendly either... I must say I would not return...
I was there, solo, for lunch and opted for a tossed salad one of the best I ever had. For my main course, I ordered the Eglifilet (perch) which was outstanding not only in flavor but in portion size....I could not finish it. The service was professional. My grandmother owned a hotel in Basel from the 40's to the 80's and this is the closest I have seen in terms of atmosphere, cleanliness, quality and serenity. However, my only negative it their policy of charging for tap water.
