Decent Japanese-American atmosphere, comfortable booths and seating, out of 10 or so times I’ve gone there in the last year or so, the food has always been hot and the vegetables are always super fresh. Everything on the menu from ramen to sushi, and Bao buns to general tsao, its all at least an eight out of ten. In-restaurant wait times are about 15-20 mins. What Michelle Parada doesn't like about K'gen Asian Cuisine:
Regrettably, this once-favorite restaurant has lost its appeal, as the food quality has decreased and prices have increased. On our recent visit with a group of five, a gratuity was automatically added, which is typically reserved for larger parties, even though three of us only ordered drinks and appetizers, while two others were just there for companionship. The dishes we did receive were disappointing; the fried r... View all feedback.

The staff is always super nice and the bathrooms are clean and have super basic amenities. Takeout times range from 15-30 mins and tend to end up on the faster side. Glad to have a great spot for Asian cuisine in the valley
Had a great experience here eating out on the outdoor patio. Both the food and service were great. If you're looking for Asian food in the area, K'Gen is a great spot. They serve both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. We loved the spicy edemame! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My meal was not good. I ordered the almost $30 teriyaki box: They got my sushi wrong. The Tom Yum soup was disgusting. It tasted like dirty dish washer with a brick of salt in it with really fishy shrimp. My plate was swimming with soggy salad dressing that my rice even tasted like it. The service is terrible, they don't check in very often and forgot my friend's drink, he had to ask a couple times for it. I've been here twice, and I never want to come back.
We had a great lunch in the outdoor seating area. Service was great, food was delicious. I loved the edamame!
Rating: 3.5. I ordered the chicken lo mein to go after hearing that it was the best some reviewers had ever tasted. Unfortunately, I found it too sweet for my liking. The noodles and chicken were decent, but there weren't many other ingredients aside from some green onions. I was hoping for more variety, but I suppose that was my mistake in choosing a dish that didn't include more vegetables. On a positive note, the service at the register was very friendly, and my order was prepared promptly, with the pick-up time being accurate. However, I did find it a bit pricey for the smaller portion size, which is likely due to the restaurant being located in a popular tourist area.
