What Scott S doesn't like about Cafeoteca Costa Rica:
Fabulous coffee shop in Escalante with a large variety of specialty coffees and a clean modern decor. It's a perfect place to have breakfast. But if you are planning on working, the Wi-Fi speed is mediocre. We were getting 11/11. Worse than that is the fact that all of the seating is too low for the table tops. It's almost as if they didn't want people to work from here. It's a large spacious cafe with plenty of room... View all feedback.
I visited this restaurant for coffee and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is lovely, particularly in the outdoor patio area. I ordered a v60 pour over and received assistance from one of the staff members in the roasting section. He helped me choose the beans, as my primary language is English. I regret not discovering this place sooner- it has a great atmosphere.
The food at this restaurant is delicious, the coffee and pastries are spectacular, and the service is excellent and friendly. I visited in the mornings while my wife was still asleep to enjoy the amazing coffee in the spacious courtyard seating area. The coffee is roasted on-site and the pastries are made fresh daily. While it may be a bit more expensive than other places, it is definitely worth it. They offer a variety of coffee from local farms and the staff is very knowledgeable about the different types of beans. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning next time I am in Costa!
I absolutely love this place. It is a fantastic coffee shop with multiple rooms, each with its own unique atmosphere. They offer a wide variety of high-quality coffee options and the food is superb. The portion sizes are a bit small, but the passion fruit pie is delicious and the apple tart is decent. The service is exceptional, with our waiter taking the time to explain the various coffee brewing techniques to us.
I did a short trip to Costa Rica mainly focusing on coffee and this was hands down the best cup I had. From the variety of bean origins to their different preparation and brew types, you won’t find a better place to explore the country from one location.
Wonderful experience sampling different coffees from select farms in Costa Rica. Our server Maria Jose and coffee expert (practicante) Josue were knowledgeable and explained each of the coffee’s unique characteristics in great detail. It is obvious that they love their job. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
