Contribute FeedbackSwiss Chalet has been a longtime favorite, but recent experiences have left a bad taste. Dishes were disappointing, with soup and roast beef both falling short. Service was lacking, contributing to an overall negative experience. Issues with raw chicken and slow service have deterred customers from returning. The restaurant is recommended by some patrons who appreciate consistent, delicious meals and friendly service. While some find the food to be good for special occasions, others feel it is overpriced. However, the restaurant can still shine for large group events with excellent service and attention to detail.
Quarter chicken? And that classic sauce? And some of the best fries I've had? Can't really go wrong.
Went for lunch with 10 friends. Service good and food good. Atmosphere good with many seats. Much better than the one in Midland. Washrooms clean
We have been going to Swiss chalet for years and never had a problem but I can honestly say we will never go back here again. My Mother order the chicken noodle soup, I order the roast beef on a Kaiser and my husband order half a chicken. The soup was watery and had no taste. And to top it off, it was not even hot but just tepid. My roast beef on a Kaiser was terrible. The meat was extremely dry and was more like shoe leather. I kid you not, it was disgraceful. It was served on a hamburger bun, not a Kaiser bun as advertised. The juice to dip the beef in was a greasy mess. My husband's chicken was alright. We tried to get our waitresses attention but she was run off her feet. After several attempts to get her attention, my husband said to forget and pay for our food and leave. It certainly was not worth the money. At one time this place was our go to place but no longer. Food was one of the worst I have ever had. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Upon arrival, it is very difficult to figure out where the lines are to ask for a table, wait for a table, or line up to order takeout. Everyone is all in a jumble, all around the vestibule with no clear indication of where one should go. Very confusing. Thankfully, in spite of the confusion, we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Our party of 5 ordered 2 appetizers and an entré each. Both appetizers were below normal SC standards. The spinach dip was runny and not nearly as flavourful as usual and the spring rolls were cold. All but 1of us had complaints about our entrés. The fries had obviously been sitting around for a while...lukewarm and tough. And my daughter complained that the sauce on her pesto pasta wasn't as good as normal.I'm not usually one to complain too much about things, and we are fairly regular Swiss Chalet customers, so it's not like we don't know what the normal standard is and just don't like the food. What we experienced here is, quite simply below normal Swiss Chalet standards and we won't be coming back to this specific establishment again.
The food is alright. Service is standard but friendly. All in all ok but...this is the longest waiting drive thru I have ever seen. It's quicker to eat in.
