Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters - Barrie

We were visiting friends in Barrie and decided to try Mary Browns because we had never been there. The chicken was tasty but the taters weren't anything special. I make better taters at home. The price was reasonable. I thought the chicken tasted better than KFC and not as salty as Popeye's chicken but my wife is still stuck on KFC.

Had the chicken from here for the first time. I don't normally do reviews but I created an account just to comment on this chicken.I have never tasted fried chicken this good before, not greasy at all like KFC, perfected home made taste. I would also say the taters and coleslaw, which I was told were made fresh in store are amazing.Very friendly staff, clean store, definitely recommend.Customer for life.

It was a Sunday and some restaurants were closed. Went her and had a great lunch with good service. Area is clean and well organized. Chicken is better than some other places.

For a quick meal or snack it has good food and selection. Good taste and portions.It has dine in or take out. There chicken is a good size and there Taters are great. The Big Mary is a tasty sandwich.

I don't buy chicken very often and swore of KFC years ago after getting sick from their food once too often so Mary Brown's was a pleasant surprise.My daughter like the chicken fingers as they were not the typical heavy battered like a chicken nugget or restaurant style fingers. The fried chicken my dad and I got for supper was good, and the wedges had a pleasant seasoning.The only complaint - the potato salad had very little mayo so was dry.
