What Alex Gan doesn't like about Bento Sushi:
The quality of sushi here went down. Not sure if it's a new chef. California rolls have now almost no avocado, you can barely see it, rice is very dry despite that it was way too far from the expiration date. The presentation of sushi is not as appealing as it used to be. I gave it a second try and still the same after a few weeks. North of Barrie location and Collingwood so far had the best Bento sushi. We ordered the mango dragon roll and the mango was clearly not ripe… like there was slices of carrots In there… scallops were very small and everything was cold. For the cost I could have gotten double from sakana house and way better quality. This is the first time I didn’t want to finish all of my sushi
We ordered online and everything was ready on time. The sushi was fresh and delicious. Tempura was tasty too. The beef noodles and ramen noodles were not so good. Both lacked flavour and were below average. The side of salad was lame. Only Iceberg lettuce that was limp. Dressing was ok. We strongly feel now is the time to support local businesses. Definitely recommend the sushi and will order again!
