Really impressed with the amount of animals here and you actually get to see them. Feeding time for the big cats is a must watch. Cafe was very well priced with good food. View all feedback.
Well worth the price for a lovely day out. Firstly, the animals look well looked after, well fed, cared for with spacious amounts of land *something we feel strongly about. The park itself is widespread but everywhere you walk there's something to see so it doesn't feel like your walking and walking for ages just to find an animal. The concept is great as the zoo really is trying to protect our animals. A huge selection of animals, all with some information about them which was lovely to read. We found a lovely little park and space to have a picnic too. The toilets were not clean and didn't flush properly. The tap water didn't work; this is a huge hygiene issue for me. The cafe was ok-personally i think if they reduced the amount on the menu then they would manage the waiting time better. Queueing in the (long) food queue just for ice cream is silly, especially when the snack shack right outside could be opened. The main negative was the coffee shop- nearly £3 for a latte which was 1/2 cup full and pretty much cold. Otherwise, we'd definitely recommend, support and return here.
Had a great day enjoying a walk on the wild side experience! The keeper we were with was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We got to get up close and personal with some very impressive and interesting animals whilst being safe and respecting them. Would definitely recommend!
This was an amazing zoo to visit. We had the walk on the wildside experience and could not be happier with the outcome. The staff was fantastic, we met Alex and Steve and loved the interaction and information they gave us.
Beautifully presented zoo, easy to navigate around with complimentary map given on entry. It was a wonderful day out for me and my 6 year old alike. We both thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic about working there. The animals are well cared for and have very well sized enclosures for their needs. We went on a Sunday so was fairly quiet and no wait to enter. The cafe is fairly priced for any food place these days and food was prompt and of good quality. Again the staff couldn't help enough. There is a gift shop before the exit which again is fairly priced for a day out excursion. All in all it was a fabulous day out and one me and my little one will remember for a long time thanks to the staff
Had a great day out here at the weekend. Although there is a construction project going on near the entrance (no noise, just an empty area) it really didn't put a dampener on our visit at all. The autumn colours were beautiful and it was good to see the animals looking happy and being looked after. We heard a really interesting talk about lemurs and, in general, Madagascar which was eye opening. You understand why facilities such as this are important to educate people and protect the wildlife. Also, this zoo is bigger than it appears. There's a pretty little nature trail that curves down, past the deer, to a stream and then there are more paddocks just below the play area where you can see huge owls, a wolverine and alpacas. A great day out in North Devon, superb value for money
