The Huntsman - Barnsley

Great pub serving wholesome, wonderful food. We booked in for Sunday Lunch, both had the Roast Pork dinners. All cooked freshly, wonderful. The ale is superb too. My wife drinks Pink Gin and her favourite is a Spanish tipple called Puerto de Indias. We’ve only ever been able to get it in Spain, until now! The Huntsman have it! It’s a proper pub with a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff/locals. It’s a must if you’re in the area.

We have been twice here in the past 2 months for a Sunday lunch as a family. It’s a lovely, proper, traditional Yorkshire pub. Welcoming, great food at not ridiculous prices. Sunday lunch was a plentiful portion, proper home cooked Yorkshire puddings no frozen stuff here , lots of veggies big portion of meat. Veggie options are good our very fussy vegetarian teen loved his nut roast! Deserts are mouthwatering proper puddings think jam roll poly, apple crumbles sticky toffee pudding all superb. Prices really good half the price of other local places. Staff friendly hard working. And I just loved the “coituk” if you’ve been there you will know It’s gets my recommendation 100

Went for a Sunday lunch with family today. Despite being a fairly limited menu, the food is great quality with lots of it. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Only downside was the table size was far too small for 4 people, meaning no room to put plates so ended up on the windowsill as no glasses were cleared. However, still would recommend and will be visiting again.

After Taking my 81 year old Dad to Church today on remembrance Sunday we had Sunday lunch at the Huntsman. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff that served our drinks and showed us to our table. We both went for the beef and is was absolutely delicious. A proper Sunday dinner.. Melt in the mouth beef. Very tasty veg, lovely mash cripsy roast potatoes a fresh proper yorkshire pudding. Puddings were lovely too. Absolutely recommend the Huntsman, fantastic food, welcoming staff, nice atmosphere good value for money and a lovely country pub. Many thanks.

We've been here loads of time and love the atmosphere every time. Plenty of locals but newbies always welcome. Food is amazing, love Sam's meat pies, pork pies and scotch eggs. Always a good beer on, Belgian Blue at Xmas and the staff are welcoming, polite and will do as much as they can to help. Don't forget to bring your glass back to the bar though! A proper Yorkshire pub with proper beer, proper food and proper company. Would recommend and go again and again and again.
