great place to eat a bite. the immersion is extremely limited due to the only 2 tables in the interior. takeaway is therefore most likely. eating is great and the portions abundant. the one I would suggest to improve is their menu, they don't seem to have printed and the boards and are limited with content. for example, I had no idea what was included in small or large breakfasts, because everything that was displaye... What Archie898 doesn't like about The Cottage Kitchen:
Been in here a couple of times, first time they'd ran out of corn beef, second time they had one baked potato and it was reserved for someone else, both times it was about 12.10-12.15pm so you need to come early here or have what they've got left it seems. Sandwich first time was nice enough, second time the breadcake was stale. Do some nice cakes though, that seems to be their speciality. View all feedback.
Visited here a while back pleasant service and good food. Today 27/3 got proper retro British service, i.e. I was an inconvenience. I turned up at the unreasonable time of 130 pm for a sandwich. Doubt I'll pop in again, unless as a pure antidote for a visit to an over friendly American diner.
A rare early home kick off for the boy meant breakfast was required. TripAdvisor lead us here and again we weren't disappointed. This place really is tiny with just three tables with two chairs at each. One table was occupied when we arrived with a couple of people waiting for take outs. We both ordered a big breakfast egg, beans, mushrooms, tomato, and 2 each of sausage, bacon and toast). The drinks arrived promptly and our food soon after. It was very good, we thoroughly enjoyed it. If I'm being picky I would've preferred my egg a bit more runny, bit that's a minor point. The cakes in the counter looked fab too. Might have to call in again for a slice and a cuppa.
Always visit cottage for breakfast especially on a hangover day this is the best cure! The sandwiches are beautiful not grease either! They have a wide range of cake selections too what are very nice to sit in with a hot drink! Quick delivery service too!
What a great little place this is home made quality food freshly produced to order be it hot or cold savoury or sweet everything we tried was delightful with very warm and friendly staff a very quaint little place try the cheesecakes absolutely divine
Often overlooked is the humble sandwich shop, serving hot and cold sandwiches, from a full monty on a huge bap to a humble blt, this little shop of surprises which can be so easily missed hidden away set back as it is from the road on a twist in the road, it is well worth a mention in TA. Theres 2 tables inside at which locals had their breakfasts and passed the time with the friendly staff. There's a selection of cakes which looked fresh and hot cold drinks. If you're in the area well worth a peak,
