A nice pub in the centre of Barnsley, serving ales from Acorn brewery, plus a selction of others also on hand-pull tinned craft beers. The old fashioned (a compliment! wooden fixtures give the place plenty of character. A pleasant surprise was the Celtic music `session` that takes place from 1pm on Sundays and which provided some good music to go with the good ale. View all feedback.
What StewKent doesn't like about Old No 7 Pub:
We were there in Oct 2021, when takeover was about to happen. Pub bought from brewery. Cocky staff. One old face! One beer (IPA with no! mega cloudy. Changed, eventually and one of old standard Acorns was rite! All doors open; easier for staff to go to cellar. But punters shivering! Heating off, so no surprise! Turners porkies on offer £1.40. That was food, plus crisps! Pie good. Not an Albert Hurst! He was maker in... View all feedback.
Probably the best pub in Barnsley, great selection of real ale, friendly staff. Good atmosphere and looks like a real old bar. Also have bands on...
The new owners have done a complete renovation and offer a great selection of beers. The previous establishment had gone downhill, but the new one is thriving. The pub is now full for the first time in years. I will definitely be returning.
The quality of beer at this restaurant has declined since it was under brewery ownership. I have visited several times this year and it's been inconsistent in terms of getting a good pint. It might be time to find a new place to go to.
I was out with my family in Barnsley and we stopped at a bar for a pint. They had one of the best selections of beers we've seen in years.
Really gone downhill, don't sell thirds, dogs peeing against tables, place stinks a d can't even serve real ale in a proper glass! Ruined!
