Contribute FeedbackThe Beggar, a quaint pub in Hoyland, exudes a friendly vibe with cozy log fires and community spirit, driven by new management's revitalizing efforts. While the atmosphere is welcoming, some patrons note the need for refurbishment and more attentive service. The food, described as basic yet satisfying, pairs well with a vibrant, lively environment ideal for family outings or watching sports. However, cleanliness and security concerns have been reported, urging management to prioritize patron safety. Overall, with a focus on improvement, The Beggar holds promise as a beloved local haunt.
A lovely place, the staff all make you feel so welcome, like a VIP. It’s a great place to go out for a drink, to work at lunchtime, to go out in the evening. They also have pool tables. What makes this place special is the staff, they’re so lovely!
Called in Saturday to watch football scores as was staying at a local hotel for the night. The pub was lively and fun staff very friendly and welcoming would call again if in the area.
The Beggar is becoming increasingly popular again thanks to new management, Lesley and Perry. New life is being put back in to the pub with a strong community focus. This is fantastic to see.
As stated run down needs a serious refurb , friendly staff but maybe to friendly as you have to wait as the staff chat to other customers , the food is basic but good enough , this could be a quality pub with the right care and attension to detail ,
Visited today , underdone chips , really overcooked steak , fish out of a packet , hot tho , draughty , baseball cap clientele , poor location , expensive for such poor food , staff ok tho ,
