The Spaniards Inn - Barnet
The Spaniards Inn
Description
Dating back to the 1500s and one of London's oldest pubs, The Spaniards has a charming yesteryear vibe with mismatched furnishings, weathered wood panelling, and leather-bound books. The canopy-sheltered terrace allows diners to immerse themselves in Hampstead's lush, green landscape. Guests can enjoy speciality beers, fine wines, and a gourmet twist on pub favorites in a relaxed and homely setting.

Excellent pub with a great menu and superb service. Our waiter Zain was fantastic and the place is a lovely spot to go when in Hampsted Heath.
I stopped by this charming historic pub for a fast lunch and was thoroughly impressed. I would definitely recommend it! The atmosphere was fantastic and the service, especially from our delightful waiter Zain, was exceptional.
We had a great table tucked away. Lovely cocktails and very polite waiter. Best burger I’ve had in ages and would definitely order again. Have already told friends about my very positive experience and intend to come back very soon.. especially as it’s my local. Only downside was a very loud couple sat next to us were very annoying.. but that’s not the pub’s fault.. goes with the territory!!
We have visited The Spaniards Inn multiple times over last few years and we were coming back because we quite liked it. Unfortunately, our recent visit was probably the most disappointing. I ordered chicken Milanese and got a very overfried piece of meat, and heavily seasoned with salt on top of that, and it was accompanied by chips that were salty as hell, too. I struggled with the salty aftertaste for the whole afternoon : My wife's fish was better, but also quite overseasoned. It's a charming place, and we remember food being better before, but perhaps it was just not our lucky day this time...
