There seems to be a lack of staff, result... read more We used to be regulars at The Arkley and always enjoyed our visits, but recently things have been a bit disappointing. There seems to be a lack of staff, resulting in long wait times for service, drinks, and food. The restaurant cleanliness has noticeably decreased, as we have noticed dead flowers on all tables during every visit. The manager appears to be overlooking attention to detail. The toilets are not clean, with a strong smell that can be detected from the stairs leading up to them. The friendly welcome we used to receive upon arrival is no longer present. Despite these issues, the food is still good and the prices are fair. We will return in hopes that improvements will be made.

When we initially ordered our drinks it took ages to arrive. At the end, the desserts came almost an hour late I initially followed up politely with the manager and she was so rude, I received the worst response from her. She didn’t follow up as I had to ask a 2nd time to another waiter. I am so shocked with the price of it all I ordered 2 Coca Colas and 2 three course meals and it totalled almost £100!!! How can that be when it said on the set menu it’s £32 each? The food was so bog standard and not worth the money. They ripped me off and provided shocking service. DO NOT GO HERE! I never write any reviews for restaurants so this shows how angry I am about this. Save your taste buds and your wallet from this regrettable excuse for a restaurant.

Had a variety of food between us, including the duo of beef which was perfectly cooked. Love the ambience of The Arkley. Service was good too.
