Not true! We had a very good lunch today, and the owners (before house and cook) are still the same and the food is probably even better. My only little nigger is the wine list that is limited and not all the interesting. Very easy to find that my favorite local restaurant is still strong and definitely hasn't gone down! Do not miss when you visit Barjac, but make sure to book

This... read more We used to reserve the day when we saw complet characters every night before. Welcome to Restaurant Manager. Very informal atmosphere, but do not mislead. This is a very good, almost gastronomic French cuisine. The profiteroles in different...styles are very good. It was the best meal of the holiday. Very recommended.

We decided to start the roles of aubergines, then the duck and the “alouette sans tete” (a beef olives, in fact! followed by the profit oils, all washed... down with a Pichet house wine. Everything about the food was perfect - like visiting friends who like to cook and entertain. I was somewhat nervous about Monsieur, have read some of the comments about him here, but he was more than helpful with the (French menu, my rather bad efforts seemed to appreciate with his language, and was a real character to manage his stage while his wife manages more than anything behind the scenes. It was nice to meet her and thank her for her wonderful creations behind the stage. If we stayed longer in the region, we could have tasted more dishes from the constantly changing and very reasonable menu. Merci, Le Monteil!
