My girlfriend and I were about to leave, as we were hoping to have tapas with our wine. However, the waitress stopped us and told us they would prepare tapas for us anyway. What arrived was two pieces of fried food, one croissant with ham, and a very small square of toast with salmon (see attached photos for reference). This was served as Aperitivo Varietà – “Cinque finger food a cura dello chef e crudités” for €8. Honestly, it would have been better if the waitress had let us leave. From a place like this, I did not expect such a substitute. When we were leaving, I told her that I would not pay for this. If something like this were served to an Italian customer, they would probably think it was a bad joke. The whole situation felt highly unprofessional. Her argument that “this is what everyone received today” surprised me — and frankly, I don’t believe it. For the sake of the restaurant’s reputation, I would not wish this experience on anyone. That said, I would like to highlight that the manager and shift supervisor handled the situation professionally. Before we left, they shared their liqueur with us and thanked us for our honest feedback, which I appreciated. This review is not meant to harm the business. However, I firmly believe that if a restaurant cannot maintain its established standards, it should not serve food at all in that moment. Two photos attached: Expectation vs. reality.
