Beppe and Caterina and their daughter Francesca run an excellent little farmhouse restaurant on spacious grounds outside of Barge. Ambience: nicely renovated farmhouse with several rooms one warm and cosy, another newly added room with sliding door/windows on two sides offering outdoor views and fresh summer air. There is also an outdoor eating area in warm weather. Cuisine: fantastic Piedmont dishes created by Beppe. There are two five course (2 antipasti, 1 pasta, 1 meat/seafood, and desert) fixed price menus for 43 Euros plus a la carte options. A bargain for 5 courses of outstanding quality. Wine: Beppe took us down to the wine cellar and helped us select a wonderful Barolo (Beppe speaks no English, but his daughter, Francesca, does and gladly translated for us). The wine menu has an extensive Piedmont selection, plus choices from around the world. If you are in the area, we highly recommend it.
