We were a party of ten (my mother in law’s birthday) and after an initial and very favorable impression I was steadily disappointed by first the service and then by the food. While the Restuarant looks beautiful (and maybe this raises the expectation) the food was not great. I had the “pepper steak” which was not great. The steak while tender lacked taste and the sauce which smothered it was too salty with no hint of... View all feedback.
Óptimo restaurante com excelente comida e bom serviço.
We stopped here on Camino trip and the restaurant offers a pilgrim menu for €15. It was super. Salad or soup to start meat or fish for main dessert coffee and a lovely glass of red wine. Food and service very good in a lovely setting.
Excellent food and wine. We came here 4 days in a row in a group of 15 adults and 24 teenagers. Each day the food was really tasty, especially the salmon, duck with rice, pork, sea bass and bacalau a bras. We also loved the desserts. And the wine, especially vino verde was wonderful. Special thanks to the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful.
I was recently walking the pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago from Coimbra to Santiago, but a minor injury required 2 days of rest in Barcelos. My hotel concierge recommended that I dine at Galliano and I was so happy that I did. Indeed, I ws so pleased with my meal on my first evening, that I went back for my second night to have something else from the menu. I am not hopeful that I will someday return with my family so that they can share the experience. On the first night I had the traditional roasted chicken and it was simply the very nicest roast chicken I have ever had: flavourful, tender with a perfectly crisped skin that was umber from the piri-piri marinade. The silted and sautéed collards underneath were delightful, and the roasted potatoes rounded out the nicest comfort meal I have ever enjoyed. On the second night I enjoyed grilled salmon as my main, and took for my dessert a pear poached in port. At 15-16 euros for 3 courses of elegant dining, I was very pleased. In addition the service and environment were charming. On my first night my server was happy to converse in English, and on my second night the woman serving my table was happy to chat with me in French. My Portuguese language skills did not improve, but my palate was pleased and I felt ever-so comfortable. I should like to go back when it is not raining and I can enjoy the view of the garden at the rear of the dining room.
Cabrito muito saboroso e bem servido. Staff simpático e prestável. Voltaremos assim que possível
