We were looking for a late evening bite and literally stumbled over this place. At first the waitress seemed upset because they were finally closed in 40 minutes. we usually did not want to go to a restaurant so close to their closing time, but we had a long day on the streets of barcelona wandering and were ungry. we sat and ordered some tapas and were immediately served our articles. we have been here for 4 days, and we still have to go back to other restaurants, but this one we may have to visit again. recommend the garnel with ink fish, the sardels with olives and paprika and the paprika with tuna bell. missed that we take extra in the last minute and served crazy American amaze balls at 12:15 o'clock.
This is the new, smaller outpost of the popular vinitus tapas bar near. the menu is similar although the feeling is more casual. I tried both spots during my trip and preferred them for better performance of simple ingredients and fresh. we went in and sat at the bar before the impressive display of fresh seafood. pan con tomate meant to be generous with olive oil doused, the other vinitus took it a little too far while this had a more balanced amount of oil. torilla much softer and fuffier here, with a better ratio of cheese. gambas al ajillo quite standard on both, but I had honestly better put in the usa. langoustin that came with a sticky glaze on the ****. the meat was tender pimientos de padron easy, well seasoned with flocken salt. calamares a la romana if only all fried calamari were these fresh! very soft squid, not rubbery at all. batter was slightly cracky and not greasy. tiny clams simple preparation with little if any season. sangria red wine base, not too sweet, with zitrus. intentionally, goes down like juice! our server spoke English and was nice, although he tried to sell something. a solid place for traditional tapas and fresh seafood!
If they are looking for authentic tapas, this is the place they don't let the wait and the amount in the restaurant fool them, but it is worth definitiw. we sat at the bar that was a great place because we observed how the cooks prepared everything and the server mixed the drinks. my mother and I shared the caprese salad, mozzarella salad, bravas, steamed mushes and beef-denderloin sandwiches. both the salads came in generous portions as well as the damped mushles. the sauces on the canvas were exaggerated, so I had to throw something off the plate. the beef-denderloin sandwiches were soft and small, but it was perfect because we get full lol our eating has needed one because to get out, but it's okay because it was busy and the sangria kept us in. would recommend trying here for more tapas.
The personal was great! very social, polite and professional. the wine was excellent! then the food....absolute amazing! fish with honey and melted cheese was so good! filled kalamari with garnel and mushrooms was just as good. Tomatoes/Mozzarella salad was lovely. smoked salmon was also excellent! I will come back!
There was a short wait but it was well worth it. The food was delicious. The staff was very polite. I highly recommend.
