On our last day in Barcelona me and my girlfriend went out for a spot of breakfast. We were looking for a different place at first but when we couldn't find it we stumbled across this wonderful little place. From the looks of it it isn't that fascinating but is a small little local that serves wonderful food. Upon arrival we realised that there was a language barrier between us and the staff and us and the menu. This was solved by one of the men in there who knew a few words of English and helped us understand the menu. We ordered two bacon sandwiches, a tea and a cappuccino. These were THE best bacon baguettes I'd ever had and I'm from England, where bacon is key in breakfast. The baguette was home made, the tomato paste in the bread was delicious and the bacon was freshly cut. It was perfect to start the day for us, the portion size was spot on too and very well priced, around €3. Shame we found this on our last day as we'd definitely be back. Fantastic little place.
This is the second visit to Barcelona and we visit Viduca each day for a few drinks and local ambience. The staff are always very accommodating though this is mainly a locals bar/restaurant. It is a nice retreat and stop off point on the way back to Expo Hotel. Pop in and you'll not be disappointed
We stopped in for our last Barcelona breakfast and we're kicking ourselves for not having found Viduca earlier. No tourists, just local workmen; terrific bread sausage breakfasts in a tiny sit down dining area. Well worth the walk!
Every time I arrive to Barcelona by train I try to swing by there. I love the vibe and their local wine and cava selection.
