Older locals lunching on hearty plates by day, a cordial, younger crowd that packs the place inside spills onto the sidewalk almost every night for drinks. Go for the food and drinks but stay for the good vibes. It's a family affair: The owners are husband and wife and there every day, and they seem to know everybody. Sometimes their daughters (both students) pitch in as well. Nothing too fancy here, but the recipe for making their guests feel good seems to have been honed over many years. We stopped in often during our three weeks in Barcelona.

There's quite a nice décor inside, with a tree at the back and some eclectic decoration, including two huge keyboard buttons (Enter/Ctrl). Although this is more like a cafe with meals than a restaurant, the informal setting made it feel like I had been welcommed into someone's kitchen... and the inclusion of 80's music videos playing on the TV at the back gave the place a nice ambience. I ordered pork loin steaks; they appeared with chips and a fried egg, as well as a small tuna salad in the middle. It wasn't fine dining, but filled a hole quite nicely all washed down with a beer, it sufficed. I'll happily return for another bite if I'm in the area.

The meat and the chips looked... read more There’s nothing to get excited about in this restaurant. It was not even average. Nothing special. Our food was nothing exciting. The meat and the chips looked lonely and boring. No effort for presentation. The service was ok. The beer was cold. Good spot though as our hotel was just around the corner. Other than that nothing else. Not recommending.

Our f... read more We asked our cab driver just to get us out of the tourist trap restaurants of La Rambla. We ended up at this restaurant and actually enjoyed it very much. Our favorite tapas were the mushrooms with ham, the shrimp scampi, and the octopus. All were delicious!
