It was a mistake to stop here for breakfast. The Pan con Tomate was just bad and expensive. Coffee a 3 out of 5. The place is really vintage, with cool music and good service, but I was unlucky with my order. The toast didn’t even taste fresh...
After a very early flight it was a relief to find a lovely place for lunch. Very good selection and nice wine.
Unfussy place in a quieter corner of the Plaza Del Pi so perhaps easier to find a table than round the corner in the busy main square or the placetta of the other side. We took breakfast twice here, it was fine and it's a nice place to sit. Service was friendly, if a little hit and miss. Itinerant musicians are inevitable here as elsewhere and some of them are rather good we asked a accordionist to play tango for us and he did, so we had some fun dancing too,
The restaurant is tucked into a small plaza and is out of the mainstream traffic except from the Basilica of St. Mary. Th e restaurant offers tasty pastries and a very affordable cup of cappuccino. The seating area is very small but quaint.
Stopped here lunchtimes durning our stay. It became our favourite. 8 outside tables in a pretty square where you can watch the farmers market and street entertainers whether it's an accordion player, guitarist or singer. They are all here. The cafe serves mainly baguettes and sandwiches. We enjoyed a bottle of cava, toasted Serrano ham and cheese baguettes and cafe con leche for around 20 euros. The staff are efficient, friendly and smile. What more can you ask for and useful later for a brandy on the way home.
