Went for dinner on New Year's Day. Food is expensive and portions are small (for mains, at least). Service was friendly. Unlike another Japanese restaurant I've reviewed recently (in Dublin), they were not open to accommodating any changes to their menu to suit my vegetarian diet. As usual in these Japanese restaurants, fried tofu and tempura are cooked in the same oil as fish. Lunch might be a better value option.
MIsaki is located on the corner of Aribau and Consel du Cent. We've eaten there twice in a row as the staff and especially the food are excellent. The surroundings are super-clean and the price for the three of us was especially affordable. If you visit Barcelona, at trip to Misaki is well worth the trip.
This is definitely not your typical big city sushi bar full of gleaming metal and plastic surfaces. No modernist zen but the menus are in Spanish, Catalan, English and Japanese which should tell you about its clientele. The fixed daily menus are cheap and cheerful though the sushi options therein are very limited and quite unsatisfying for a spoilt sushi snob like me. But the teriyaki chicken, fried fish and miso I tried were excellent. I'm sure the more expensive sushi options would be better. At the time of our visit, there a kid peeking out from the kitchen so this definitely seems like a family operation. Which is good. I wouldn't take your American business partner here to dinner but I might take your Japanese friend.
After reading multiple reviews about numerous TOP Japanese restaurants in Barcelona we came across this gem walking back to our hotel. The restaurant itself was beautiful, service was great and the food second to none. After eating at one of the best (Koyshunka) the food here was superb in comparison, which is saying something as Koyshunka was great. yumyumyum I recommend this place to anyone
If you won't be disappointed with Japanese cuisine rather avoid this place. So far to be a good place to enjoy sushi or other dish typical for Japanese restaurant. I had a feeling that all what we ordered was a prepack from supermarket just warmed up there. Actually they even forgot to put chicken into noodles, which was served slightly warm. Look on the shape of the noodels! That's looks like it was just unpacked from chine instant soup. Over all this place was't so busy. I guess I'm not first one who got disappointed here... Don't be a next one!
