Was Anonym at Espaisucre a mag?
from its opening to today, always exceptional ! pioneer school restaurant in making a menu exclusively of desserts ! bestial, brutal great feina of research per of offering the client a unique experience at sensitiu level. merci per continue amb the vostre bona feina View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Espaisucre:
Propostes molt arriscades! View all feedback.

To be honest, when I booked it, the idea I had in mind had nothing to do with the reality. Espaisucre is a high cuisine school. Some days (nowadays, two meals a week) they open to customers for lunch and dinner. We had the Chocoaddict Valhrhona set menu, and it is made of 3 salty tapas, 5 desserts and 3 sweet tapas. The common point is the use of chocolate, but you aren't eating just desserts. You're eating a full menu, with a variety of ingredients, well combined and with a common point. Mireia was our maitre, and she did an awesome job, guiding us through all the dishes. If you are looking for something different in the fine dining scene, Espaisucre is jus gorgeous. The price is very reasonable. Just bear in mind a few things: You'll be sharing the table with other people (13 people in total in our case). You can book the menu with drinks. If you do so, your food will be marinated with some drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). If you don't, you'll be drinking water (which is also fine).

Ambience great, presentation nice, explanations of dishes and concepts thorough, service friendly and efficient. However, execution of the culinary concepts lacked refinement and were overly ambitious. Flavours not balanced within dishes and techniques not always best way to bring out flavours, sometimes creating jarring pairings that simply did not work. Don’t expect the desserts to be sweet despite it called a “sweet experience”. Sugar is sometimes as necessary as salt, acid and umami to influence texture and enhance flavour. This experience missed the mark on many fronts. Don’t be fooled that you are to think this is how food should taste. Concepts great, just need to get it right.

This is a restaurant attached to culinary school. Normally that may mean mediocre food served by trainee chefs. Not here. Here you get an extraordinary journey through tastes, sights and textures. We had [hidden link] [hidden link] with accompanying wines. What a treat. Each dish was superbly and expertly matched to its wine, each element enhancing the other, the result was a tour de force through elements as diverse and unexpected, yet each supremely successful in the execution. A masterful kitchen at work. Give yourself a treat, suspend believe and expectations, and enjoy the ride.

Do not eat before hand! Or if you do, maybe 1 or 2 small tapas, tops. This is a tasting menu attached to a culinary school dedicated to desserts. It starts with 3 small savory tapas where you play a game about tasting hidden flavors, then is followed by 5 expertly composed and complex desserts that illustrate their educational principles and highlight different flavors, techniques, and textures, and then ends with 3 more sweet tapas to finish off the night. Definitely book with the cocktail addition so you get the drink with each course that's designed to highlight the dessert. It was a really unique and fun experience!

We had three different 3-tapas menus and all of them were a discovery of tastes and flavors. The ambient is nice and quiet, service is professional. They kindly let us visit the kitchen and talked a bit about the desserts we had. Definitely a place were to go if you want to taste different types of desserts
