I was wrong with ration... read more Despite our preferences, the waiter brought us what he considered appropriate, I certainly have no words that express so much gratitude. I was wrong with rations, but it was evidently the intention to seek the best choice for the clientele. the best catalunya bravas, also rabies. The slots worked perfectly. very good snacks. especially recommended for families. Unfortunately, I have no photos of the night since my phone was stolen in the twigs. we will be safe.

Shame really as... read more Came across this place as it's amongst many food and drink establishments in same area just off La Rambla in the popular food/drink market area. Shame really as is in ideal location but that's where the good points finish. Waited ages to be served. Once we were the waiter hardly understood any basic English. I can get by on the basics in Spanish so that was ok but many English speaking visitors struggled! Most were despatched inside to speak to the very friendly lady working there. You would think staff would understand a few basic words as it's a tourist area! Drinks came and then waited for the food which was various tapas dishes. Nothing to write home about below average quality the tomato bread very poor. We had to remind them several times about one of the dishes. The waiters dress sense is questionable not particularly clean and enticing to welcome customers. We left feeling a little disappointed and will not return. However, smarten up the staff, give them a phrase book and speed them up a bit and we may.

Josep and Nora behind the bar are really generous and excellent people who always make me and my kids welcome when we visit. I have been coming here regularly for three years now and can't fault the food or the welcome. Perhaps it would have been a better welcome if the last reviewer had bought a drink BEFORE using the bars facilities...it's only being polite, no? Anyway, don't be put off, this is an authentic Catalan bar which makes me smile at least.

We found this place by accident, since we were looking at a place to sit next-door in the market but could not find one and then we turn towards right and found... read more We found this place by accident, since we were looking at a place to sit next-door in the market but could not find one and then we turn towards right and found a couple of tables and decided to sit here for lunch. It was a great decision. They had the daily special “ Seafood Fideuá” which is the equivalent of a Paella but substituting the rice for pasta, which is very typical of here. We also had the grilled “navajas” with butter and garlic which is a type of long oyster, and also the homemade of “croquetas” everything was excellent and very reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our experience. If you come here don’t forget to ask for the day be special.
