The best Italian restaurant in Barcelona eating here when visiting Barcelona is a must Sadly the seems like closed permanently after covid hit Barcelona
If I could give negative stars, I would. The place looks like a flea market for bad lamps and ugly statuary. The food is atrocious. It was recommended to us by a friend of my 20 year old nephew. Once we were seated, it became clear why. The place was full of international students with visiting parents taking out groups of kids. Turns out they offer a discount to students and waive the corkage fee. That appears to be 99% of their customer base. How bad is the food? The gnocchi was gummy, off flavor and inedible. The risotto was worse. Bright white, it looked like instant rice with gummy cheese. It was so awful, we turned the plate upside down and started timing how long it would take to move. After a minute, we were laughing so hard we stopped the experiment. Other pasta dishes were also gummy with flavorless sauce. Canned hearts of palm salad. We didn't bother ordering dessert but saw it served to another table looked like frozen cheesecake. There is so much great food in Barcelona; don't bother with this place.
While in Barcelona my wife and I decided to have a good Italian dinner at Da Greco restaurant in the Gràcia neighborhood. We both had the 35 euro fixed priced dinner which was a great deal considering the atmosphere and quantity of food, wine and tea. Some of the meal was 5 stars: mushroom ravioli, wine, Dorado, Tiramisu and bread. Some was 4 stars: tomato mozzarella salad, beef and the small “clam” with angel hair pasta. Some was 3 stars: foie gras, noodles with capers olives, and service. There was one 0 Star: Risotto with Parmesan. Overall, we were pleased, and would return and order the same meal again without the Risotto.
And excellent service... love the tasting plates for all to share. Beautiful setting like being in a mansion or a museum.Everyone who loves fine dining should visit while in Barcelona
We celebrated Christmas Eve here and it was excellent. Located near Casa Fuster just above Diagonal Avenue and Passage de Gracia, this restaurant came highly recommended for the best pasta in Barcelona. After our lunch, we could understand how this could be a favorite place for the directors and players of the Futbol Club Barcelona.
