Contribute Feedback What bab 72 doesn't like about Can Pe Pe:
The restaurant is not recommended. We ordered fried clamari and then a steak. The clamari was not tasty and the steak was returned twice. At least they did not charge us for it. View all feedback.
We live nearby and recently tried this place as we were struggling to find somewhere for a quick and easy lunch. We never eat at these touristy bars but it was a bank holiday and most places were full, so we thought we´d give it a cautious try. It was a bad idea... Firstly, it is not a Spanish owned Bar/Restaurant, it is Pakistani, and all of the staff are Pakistani, so if you are looking for the authentic Spanish experience this may not be your place. Regardloess, we ordered a Mixed Paella simply because you can´t really go too wrong with rice, however it was overcooked and tasteless with the aspect that it had been reheated in a microwave. Apart from some dried-out gambas inside, the quality was abismal and it was smelling of old cooking oil. We also ordered a tapa of battered calamares which again had the same smell of old cooking oil and looked like they were from a frozen packet. You get the impression that this place is dressed-up to trap the typical passing tourist who thinks they are getting some authentic Spanish food. Well all you might get is a belly ache and acid reflux from dirty coooking oil so my recommendation is to walk-on.... and spend your Euros at a genuine and cleaner place. As for service, it was nothing special, he just served the food and never came back to ask if it was OK. He just stood at the door trying to entise tourists to come-in. As for Value for money, lets just say their pockets will be bigger than your belly after you pay the bill. For the record, this place is also called Can Tonada as well as Can Pe Pe a it seems to have 2 entrances on the corner of Plaza Molino. Avoid both!
This place was terrible! It was dirty, lots of flies around the table and when we had ordered our food it turned out they didn't have it after all. Good thing I guess. We wanted to leave ASAP. I would not recommend any meals here.
