Such a cool place queuing is definitely worth it. You eat and drink standing and order at the bar. The house champagne/prosecco starts at about 1,50€ and is really tasty and just fits the atmosphere. The first two ones are sweet and then come the dry ones. Tapas are basic and delicious, service is fast and friendly. View all feedback.
What Julian V doesn't like about Can Paixano (la Xampanyeria):
Very famous tapas bar with tradition. You have to like it or not. Price very fair, but if you like balanced food, you will not find anything here. The tables were cleaned again and again, but there was still food leftovers from other visitors. View all feedback.
Typical place to eat a sandwich or franking, or a plate of bite, accompanied by the fabulous paixano can dig. my favorite is the rose, and I always checked the back cellar to take a couple of bottles home. It's a bar forever, rather full and you have to row, but it moves pretty fast. typical, charming, good food, the only thing missing is the place to hang coats and bags, as you are always standing. The service is fast.
Cavas were inexpensive and good. We tried a few different types, and I thought the cheaper ones were too sweet, but they seemed quite popular with the clientele. I much preferred the more expensive ones (Reserve Especial and Brut Rose), which for me personally were still quite inexpensive. You can purchase bottles, so we ended up purchasing two bottles of the Reserve Especial to take back with us. Didn’t get tapas but they looked tasty. They give you a number to track your bill and you pay at the end. Order at the bar whenever you want. Just a fair warning, there are very few places to sit, seems like most people were standing. Also the bathroom is extremely small and cramped. Overall we had a nice time, would return.
Was here in September 2019. Do not miss the chance to eat here it is fantastic. Cool ambiance. I like how the servers dress and the service was personable. All around A+ experience.
Cava at extremely reasonable prices and terrific foods. A true hidden gem but don't go if you don't like rubbing shoulders.
Small, narrow spot right across from the beach in the gothic quarter. Great air conditioning in here on a hot day, with chilled Rose. Bustling spot that turns tables over quickly. Loved by locals and tourists alike. Classic tapas offerings served fast and in generous portions. Locals choose the house Rose, but this one is light and delightful after a morning of walking around. Staff is very patient with struggling Spanish speakers.
