After a cordial welcome at r... read more How could they get so many things wrong at Blanc, Barcelona? Dear Antoine, You need to review the staffing at Blanc on 1 June 2025. After a cordial welcome at reception jin the Mandarin Orient Hotel Barcelona,we were escorted to the elevator and given instructions to help us find their restaurant, Blanc. Front of house found our booking and took us to our table. The waiter allocated to our table provided our sparkling water and took our order. The waiter did not correctly explain the items we enquired about and when taking our choice of beef tenderloin seemed confused. So we clarified that we both wanted our beef Medium Rare. We then ordered a bootle of wine. The waiter retuned bwith the wrong winebut insisted that it was the wine we ordered . We asked for the wine list and for the sommelier. The correct wine was identified and provided. Each time the sommelier poured our wine, he hit the bottle on the top of each glass and, when pouring the last of the wine, poured the sediment into the glass. This turned a nice glass of wine into a cloudy mess with wine crystals spoiling the tasting experience. Please note the wine was excellent but at €75 overpriced. This wine can be purchased at a local wine store for €19.50. We ordered two tapas as starters and MEDIUM RARE beef tenderloin for our main course. Special thanks to Edouard and his team at the Blanc including Luigi and Federica. The food was delicious particularly the lamb, very tender. The kids love the birthday cake surprise. Many thanks again!
