We ate here as we were staying in the local area looked at the menu and panicked! Thank goodness Tony (I'm guessing a regular) was in and translated everything for us. As I am vegetarian and cannot eat onion it was difficult to translate the menu but he did a superb job recommending dishes we would probably like. Everything was really tasty, service was quick and we thought really reasonable in price as we had lots of dishes and paid around £25. Would definitely recommend the peppers but like I say we enjoyed everything we had.

Late afternoon snack here ... service was speedy (I know... even in Spain), food decent (had a bacon egg snadwich), beer cold (San Miguel)... nice alternative as you wander around outside the main part of the city.

Our first night in Barcelona, and we ventured out to sample some local tapas. Bar Before is a small cafe/bar, lively and full of friendly people. Ordered a number of different dishes based on our experiences back in the UK, needless to say you get more for your money here, so there was more than enough. A friendly local helped us order, explained a variety of vegetarian options to Mrs, the pepper's were superb! Staff were friendly and helpful, service with a smile. Thoroughly enjoyed our first night in Barcelona, and Bar Bero. Thank you

Great place for tapas and local beer. Patatas bravas, pimentos padron are amazing and the service is world class. You'll be amazed with what Pepe can do in a tinny kitchen like they have.

We visited Barcelona last week and stayed at the utterly wonderful Primero Primera in the Sarria district (highly recommended). We mainly ate tapas while out but found it quite difficult to find somewhere good in the area. We asked the hotel and they sent us to a very expensive bar off Carrer de Mandri which was good but pricey. Anyway on our last night, wandering around, we found this wonderful bar. Frequented by locals, it is not the smartest bar (more shabby than chic) but has a great vibe as all sorts wander in and out and it is regularly open until 3 or 4 in the morning. The tapas is prepared/cooked at the bar so you know it's fresh. Very reasonable price and very, very friendly staff and guests. There is an outside seating area on the pavement too. I just wish we had found this on our first night!! I don't think this Bar has a website but you can find it on the left hand side of Mandri as you look uphill, about 100 yards from the top.
