My daughter in law made online reservations a couple of days ago, and we were seated immediately in the second room at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. I was kind of concerned about how our service was going to be because it was quite crowded (the evening prior to Mothers Day I 'd never dined there before. I had NOTHING to worry about! Our server was marvelous, very attentive, but NOT hovering all the time. He was very busy, but made a point of making eye contact to let us know he was there if we needed him. We had a variety of dishes.. from swordfish, stuffed salmon fillet, lobster bisque, spinach salad, crab cakes.. EVERYTHING was very, very good. I had the spinach salad with pomegranate dressing and loved it. At first, when the server said pomegranate dressing ..my first thought was eww, I 'm not going to like it .. WRONG!! It is delicious : And the crab cakes are the best I 've had since having them in Maryland. They have just a hint of wasabi, and that takes them from crab cakes ...to The Absolute Best Crab Cakes in the Tri-State area ! I cannot wait to go back and try something else !!
I planned a dinner for business purposes on a Tuesday evening...not as many people showed up as I was told would. Supposesdly, there were prepared appetizers that were to be served to my guests, but when one of the guests asked for appetizers, the waitress handed him a menu and he and the others ordered off of that said menu. We proceeded to order entrees and dessert. My veal was awful...I felt sick until the next day. When the manager came to give me the bill she asked who was responsible because there were issues with it...basically, I had to be charged for the appetizers that were prepared but never offered to my guests but I said No problem, I did plan for more guests that didn 't show, I will pay for the appetizers When I recived the receipt to sign for it, there was a $200 room charge! On a Tuesday night, with maybe one other table in the restaurant being used, no one banging on the door to get in, I was charged a room fee...the best part is that the manager said that she knew it was wrong and asked for my cell phone because Paul would be calling to fix this. Needless to say, I never received a phone call from Paul. We did not use the room for a presentation, just to eat...we could have been seated in the middle of the restaurant because as I said, there were no other guests except for a man at the bar and one other table of 4 or so people. Very disappointed as I do dinners at least 3 times a month from NY to WV and have never ever been so taken advantage of...no way I should have been charged $200 for a room! And one other thing...I specifically asked if there was a room charge and was told NO!
Charged me for food I didn't order.
