A La Bonne Heure

We stayed at the nearby Golden Tulip and wanted something different and cheaper. We thought we’d try this restaurant and weren’t disappointed. It’s pretty simple, you walk in, choose your main course and pay for it. You get a receipt which you take to the chef when you’re ready for your main. But in the mean time it’s all you can eat starters, sides and desserts, and water. There’s even a soft play for the kids. It is also ridiculously good value compared with the hotel restaurant! We got a 25% discount voucher printed off with our groceries from the Casino supermarket so it made it even better value. Some really tasty food despite thinking it’d be cheap and cheerful. One tip would be get there early. It opened at 18:45 and by 19:30 it was very busy.

On our way back to Portugal we had a stop-over in the restaurant “A la Bonne Heure” and this to try it out, because we never had this restaurant on one of our trips. It is the system that you enter and you can choose what you like form the several buffet´s. We can say that it is a good quality price and you can get as much as you can eat. Our only problem was that we arrived really late it was about 13h30. But anyhow we got a real friendly service and good food that we had to eat a bit faster than normal. Anyhow we can recommend this restaurant for people who are on the road, and don´t want to spend allot of time in a normal restaurant. Our conclusion, friendly and helpful service by the staff, and a good quality/ price food.

A good place to stop by to get lunch The formula is good and only 10€ For a formula entree plat and desert all you can eat except the principal hot dish . A chef will serve you and for the other part you help your self . Nice place clear well done in decoration simple and efficacy good concept wine beer and champagne if you feel like it !

Directed here by our hotel because it's own restaurant was fully booked. The most poorly organised fast food place we've ever visited. You choose your meal and pay in advance at a till in the entrance using pictures posted above. Then give a chit to a surly server to collect a meal completely in the way of other diners who are trying to add their veg etc. I chose roast chicken which was dry, overcooked and barely warm. Then they have the cheek to say they offer such good value and service if we are kind enough to clear our own tables and place our trays in a collection trolley. I paid for coffee then when trying to use the vending machine discovered from other diners that I should have been given a token at the till. Otherwise it takes 2 euro coins.
