Barbate the capital of red tuna and a bar restaurant El Nani offering expensive tiny pieces of Tuna looking like half a bacon and as thin, added with a spoonful of French fries! Pity and yet the beach remains splendid. You'd better have a picnic sitting in front of it. We discovered a real restaurant a bit further on an avenue but we have not yet tried it. Anyway fortunately some very friendly bars and restaurants provide very good portions of tuna in Cadiz with smiles and very interesting explanations.
I've been coming to Barbate for years and alwys stop at Bar Nani for a meal. The owner is always very nice and treats you well. De food is good. De gambas blancas are great but maybe a bit expensive for 9 pieces for € 9, . Fot r the rest I'm very content with the place which has a great view over the bahia.
Halloween? No, El Nani. If you are planning a trip to Barbate, do not stop by here. Food was ok, but poor and expensive. Menu was 10€, but we ended up paying 20€ with drinks that we did not order. Trick!
We enjoyed a really good Sunday unch at Bar Nani. The fish is so fresh, and the Bar overlooks Barbate Beach and you can enjoy watching the famiies stroll along the promenade as well as watch listen to the ocean
This place was only open about 2 hours every night. He put menu 's out on a table for ppl to look at as they went by. We looked at one, but before I had time to read it, we were being ushered to a table. Most of the stuff on the menu he was either out of or once he even said I don 't like that, i 'll bring you..... something else. The food was terrible. Even the wine was bad. We spent about 50 euros and I went hungry. I felt like I had been tricked by a cirus ring leader. This place is right on the Paseo Maritimo and there are tons better places to eat. Try Rufo 's up the street a bit.
