Komune Resort - Banora Point

If you are going to Coolangatta, the only place to stay, to chill, to play it big, is The Komune. I stayed in a dorm. Great breakfast. Great pool. Great spa. Great bar. Great nightlife. Great people. Incredible girls. Really. Don't stay anywhere else. Definitely stay well away from The Coolangatta Hotel, which is disgusting. The Komune is the only place to be if you want a dorm or anything else. I love this place, for all the weirdness that it is, that for as rundown as it is (they are demolishing and rebuilding), the coolness and energy of the people are amazing. It made Collangatta for me. Get there while you can as it is, but if you don't make it by then, I'm sure the new one will be even more amazing, with the same people, hair way way cooler. Thanks for making me so welcome. :)

For the 18 -35's 100% idealAppartments that although a little dated, proved more room with a view than you will come across elsewhere.The most lively bar, dance venue downstairs means for many traveling to seek what they are after isn't necessary.Colourful, loud, happening and across the road from the beach + Greenmount Beach Club - which is also a Gem for Surf loving types

Small group booking, was clearly forgotten by staff at venue, so was not prepared for our group to arrive.Venue was empty, yet still took over 30mins to make 5 cocktails... All food came out cold, and not as the menu stated.. chips were not served with chipotle mayo, tacos had pineapple salsa missing, squirty cheese on nachos???? YUCK, not a single jalapeño in sight!!! The avocado/guacamole was harder than the cold stale tortilla chips...I would not recommend the food here unless you were drunk and everything else was shut... For a vibrant venue, the staff and food were bland.. very disappointing!

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The blonde waitress was rude upon arrival. She didn't know what was on the restaurant's menu. She brought out our food at separate times, and once an hour had gone by, one of us went to check, only to find the food had been sitting there going cold as she served other people. She then got him to bring the food back to the table himself. We were the only 4 people at the restaurant on a Tuesday, so expected better than this. The customer service was absolutely appalling. Would not recommend.

Went for the Taco Tuesday promotion tonight. The girl who served us had no idea it was even taco Tuesday and was rude and miserable when i asked about the promotion clearly in large writing all around the resort. She even said that she probably wont remember who ordered what but that she will try (okay, that's your only job?). Waited over an hour for our tacos which all came out separately to be told that it was the chefs fault and the fish wasn't defrosted and that we needed to exchange for another type. Asked for a bottle of water for the group and got one glass. After an hour of waiting we went to the counter to ask about the food which was sitting at the bar and had obviously been sitting there for a while (our group were the only customers eating at the restaurant so she obviously wasn't too busy) to then be told that she was busy serving a man at the bar.The tacos were actually really good but the waitress if you'd even grace her with the title was the rudest person i'd ever encountered in a restaurant.
