What Anna cox doesn't like about Rose Hill Retreat Llc:
. Stayed in hilltop. Bed is uncomfortable, old tired cardboard bed and pillows to match. 1 ply toilet paper. Shower didn’t drain and toilet ran all night. Website says chef cooked breakfast. On a weekend we got a frozen waffle yogurt thrown on top and microwaved bacon and a tiny cup of OJ. No water or coffee offered. No pastries as mentioned on website. No options. Disappointing stay for the price. The view is beautiful, check in was simple. Nice parking lot and quiet. I prefer nicer amenities inside my room.
Rose-Hill Retreat was an exceptional find. The location was very convenient to anywhere in the hill country. The cottages were immaculate, tastefully furnished and comfortable. The breakfast was also a 5 star experience. The staff were all very courteous professional and made you feel at home. This was a very very pleasant experience from the start to leaving. Kudos to Asher he was a special host.
We love Rose Hill Retreat! I have personally stayed there 3 times and was introduced to it by a friend who has been going there since they opened. It is a little piece of heaven, so quiet and tranquil. They offer a delicious breakfast every morning, they have a coffee and tea bar set up downstairs in the main house for all of the patrons. It’s a short drive to Fredericksburg, the rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. They have accommodations from single rooms up to a 3 bedroom house. The views are spectacular, all in all it is a very special place and I look forward to my next visit.
Nearby activities: Pedernales has nice seating areas with snacks and wine within walking distance, make a reservation there for wine tasting
The most exquisite and unexpected place, I believe I have ever been to. From booking until checking out, my experience was five star. Amy is very hands-on, not what you would expect from an owner. She helped me in every way possible. My room was absolutely perfect. It was the little things that you wouldn’t even think of, that made it perfection. It was quaint and cozy. The service staff were the friendliest I think I have ever met! I absolutely cannot wait to go back.
So this would have been our 2nd time staying at the retreat and it is a lovely place with lovely rooms. The food is also amazing. That being said we called 4 times on Tues 6/3 to cancel our reservations for 1 overnight 6/8 6/9 because our daughter got covid. Not only was it not canceled, but we were charged $395 for a 1 night stay (effectively paying for 2 nights but only getting 1). When I spoke to the owner, Amy, I told her that we had canceled last week and asked why our card was still charged. I was told that the cancellation policy is 10 days in advance. I informed her that we were not told that at the time of cancellation nor did we receive a cancellation email. Had we known about this policy, we would have given the reservation to my MIL, who was currently in the hill country. She stated that it is on the original bill as well as the cancellation email (we did not get any cancellation email). I asked her to foward me the cancellation email she sent. I am still waiting for that. Very disappointed in both the communication as well as this policy. Emergencies happen, so should compassion. $400 is a lot of money for 1 night. As charming as this place is, we will not be going back and will not recommend.
