The Salty Dog - Bangor

We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant. Although the menu had limited choices, the burgers, scampi, and haddock that we ordered were all very tasty and served hot. The boys especially enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding. The service was excellent as well. We would definitely recommend this place.

The restaurant was quite empty, but our food took a long time to arrive. There were three of us, and we ordered two Sunday dinner meals and a steak. After a 30-minute wait, three Sunday dinners arrived. There was speculation about how long the steak would take, but it was taking too long, as the other two guests would have finished their meals by the time it arrived. There was a lack of follow-up on drinks, and we had to ask for things multiple times. Ultimately, it was disappointing. We recently learned that dogs are no longer welcome in the bar, so we will not be returning, as that was the main reason we came to the bar/restaurant. The dog-friendly atmosphere was a unique advantage, and without it, there are better places to eat with a better atmosphere. The presence of dogs added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

Fantastic venue. The service was great from the minute we walked in. They were very attentive and friendly offering recommendations for the food. Food was great and a good value. I recommend the Meringue for dessert! They even put a candle in my daughters ice cream and sang happy birthday, she was over the moon. Thank you.
