Overall, the restaurant is pretty good. None of the curries are suitable for vegetarians/vegans, and the pad thai is not vegan. The price includes a two-hour meal with a ticket for the observation deck. You can pick out the fruit you want, give it to them, and they will cut it up and bring it to your table. What Nimo doesn't like about Baiyoke Sky Fruit Buffet:
This was the most bland fruit I have ever tasted. The selection is limited to only 5 or 6 fruits, all of which were flavorless. For vegans, this may be your only option as the other dishes offered, such as pad thai, cakes, and soup, contained eggs, dairy, and chicken. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lacking, with an unattractive room and harsh white lighting, with no view of the outside. To top it off, the... View all feedback.
Ideal for durian and fruit enthusiasts, this restaurant also offers a variety of dishes such as curries, pad thai, durian pizza, durian crepes, fruit chocolate fondue, various teas, and fruits. Priced at 790 baht for approximately 90 minutes, the buffet includes a brief dance performance. The fee covers admission to the observation decks before and after enjoying the buffet.
The first time we went to the Baiyoke fruit buffet, it was excellent as it allowed us to try a variety of fruits and dishes. We tried durian for the first time, both fresh and grilled, and it was incredibly delicious. Their mango sticky rice was fantastic and the Pad Thai with durian was also great. With the buffet ticket, you also get a free ticket for the revolving platform at the top. Unfortunately, the second time we tried to go, we couldn't get in because they were fully booked and didn't have durian available without a reservation. Such a shame.
In general, the restaurant is pretty good. None of the curries are vegetarian or vegan, and the pad Thai is not vegan either. The price is reasonable and includes a ticket for the viewing deck. You can fill your plate with whatever you want, hand it over, and they will cut it up and bring it out to you on a plate. I'm not a fan of durian, but the grilled durian was surprisingly delicious. The cost is 490 baht per person. This information was updated as of the previous review on October 21, 2019.
We stayed at this hotel for a few nights and were pleased to find a breakfast buffet. There was a large selection of fresh Thai dishes, including durian. The buffet is open from 10am to 9pm, but seating is limited to 1.5-hour time blocks. For example, we arrived at 11:15am and our time block was from 10:30am to 12pm, so we only had 45 minutes to eat. Overall, the food was excellent, although some items were a bit too sweet for my taste. The buffet was priced at $16 (390 THB), which we found to be worth it.
I got to try many fruits that were new to me with my first durian. As a vegan, I typically eat fresh fruits, candied fruits, and sticky rice. I noticed that dried shrimp were served as a topping for a fruit salad, so the buffet is not entirely vegetarian.
