I especially enjoyed the lemonade—it struck a perfect balance between tartness and sweetness and tasted authentic, unlike typical fountain drinks or prepackaged mixes. The Texas smashed potatoes were delicious, and the meatloaf was also very satisfying. The chips and queso stood out as excellent. River Oaks offers a fantastic menu, making it an ideal spot to grab a meal after a hike in one of the state parks beyond Bandera. There’s a beautiful river behind the restaurant, along with limited outdoor seating.

I tr... read more River Oaks offers excellent classic American cuisine. My wife enjoyed the chicken fried steak, served with a side of cabbage that was absolutely delicious. I tried the Dr Pepper barbecue burger, and the barbecue sauce was outstanding. The restaurant features a full bar and a variety of beers, though the menu does not include any signature cocktails. After your meal, you can take a pleasant walk along a path behind River Oaks that leads to an open field by the river.

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful, with very fair prices! Well done, Bandera! I almost felt like giving the chef a kiss for that incredible meal!

They feature a beef tenderloin buffet on Friday nights that is definitely worth a visit. They even provided a complimentary sample, which was so juicy. We will definitely be coming back many more times!

My husband and I visited before the dinner rush last Saturday, and we were treated to a fantastic view. Our waitress was a joy! We only ordered burgers, but they were some of the best burgers we've ever had—absolutely delicious! I'm pretty sure the rest of their menu is just as tempting. Give them a try; I’m almost certain you won’t regret it!
